Mom's 'travelog'...finally

Hi everyone!

I'm really, REALLY sorry for the slacking of visiting, reading and answering your comments. I really miss all of you! Thanks for stopping by to leave a note on the blog or on the CBox! Mom has been super busy at her work these days...something about her transitioning into another field of work at her company. Don't know what that meant...I just know that I have not been a good DWBer...whoever heard of a dog who blogs but doesn't update his blog often enough? I guess I'll be the first,no? *wink*

Anyways, please PLEASE bear with me...I will visit your blogs VERY soon! I hope this time I won't break that promise...*glares at Mom* She reads some of the doggies' and hammies' blogs during her lunch time, but she says she didn't want to post comments without me, hence the 'silence'. I have loads and loads to post now (it's accumulating so fast, it's crazy!) so I hope you can bear with my excessive ramblings and numerous photos! Mom has helped me shrink them so it's not that huge, so I hope it doesn't slow down your computers when you see this!

Okay, since Mom's trip to India has been like, AGES and AGES ago, I shall post only my most favouritest photos from her trip and some of her nicest stories here. Even these are very long, so I shall break them into two posts. o.O" Let's begin!

Here is a shot of India when Mom is still in the airplane. Her flight was a night flight unfortunately, so she couldn't see much. Plus, her camera is not one of those professional cameras AND she doesn't take good photos...=( But I like the little dots of lights in the distance...heh!

This is a shot of the little TV thing that Mom says is in front of her while she was in the plane. See the little plane icon pointing to Bangalore? That's where she went for her training / trip.

Here's a shot of the beds that she slept in the hotel. Mom says the beds are a little smaller than she thought, but still it's quite comfy.

See what I mean when I say she doesn't take good photos? She tried to capture what the bathroom looks like, but instead took a photo of herself in the mirror...LOL!

Here is a shot of a small waterfall thingy in front of the hotel. Although it's small, Mom says that whenever she went out, she always thought that it's raining because of the sounds the waterfall makes...one time she even brought out her umbrella just to see that it's bright and sunny outside. LOL!

This is where Mom had dinner a few times with her colleague. It's a Chinese restaurant...I like the little lantern thingies outside and the dim lighting. Mom likes it too, but she said the food definitely tasted different from the Chinese food here in Malaysia. Probably it's because the restaurant is owned and run by Indians? *wink*

Mom says in Bangalore, you get to see quite a lot of these arches at the side of the road. They are really intricate works of carving. I just wonder how they managed to climb so high up there to carve the patterns!

Here is a photo of the 'Otto'. Not sure if that's the way it's spelled, but that's what the locals call it in Bangalore. It's the yellow motorcycle on three wheels. Mom says it's the most convenient form of transport there, and it's quite cheap to travel around using the 'Otto' too. She had loads of fun travelling and seeing the streets of Bangalore from the 'Otto', but because they drive quite fast Mom couldn't take many decent photos since they zip past the 'subjects' before she can snap a photo. =(

Here is a photo of a petrol station near the hotel where Mom stayed. Mom says it looks rather small compared to the petrol stations here in Malaysia, but don't be surprised to find many cars and motorcycles parked around it waiting for their turn to fill up their vehicles.

Teehee! I think this is a hardware shop that Mom passed by on her walk to the office in Bangalore. I can't help laughing at the coils of rubber hoses hung outside...they make nice decorations too, no? *wink*

Ooh...Mom spotted this across the road when she was walking to the office. She said it's the wiring for the electrical system in that neighbourhood (?!!). Seems pretty complicated to me...I wonder how do the electricians tell which goes where...

I don't know why, but I just like this photo of the tree growing on the side of the road. Plus, that green on the tree just looks so awesome, doesn't it?

Mom says that if you take a walk around the streets of Bangalore, you would be able to see many of these vendors selling vegetables and fruits. They look really pretty, don't you think? I love the colors and of course the way they arranged the fruits. They look like they're building a pyramid of sorts there! LOL!

Here's a photo of a shop selling all sorts of groceries, fruits, vegetables and flowers in a market that Mom went to. Look at all those colors! Mom says that they sell chains of flowers strung together for decorations and for prayers. You can see them hung about at the back of the shop. When you pass through it, Mom says it smells very nice. *sniffs* Don't think I can smell them from the photo though.

Here's a photo of a traditional cradle placed outside a shop. Mom was told that when babies were born, they were put in the cradle for a ceremony to welcome the baby into the family. It looks super nice, doesn't it? I asked Mom why she didn't bring one back for me....she said that I'm not a baby anymore. *pouts* I thought all parents think of their kids as babies still even when they're all grown up!

Mom took this photo of a man selling coconuts by the road side. She said when you're feeling hot and thirsty, just stop by and get a coconut drink. The man will choose a coconut to your preference (coconut juice more, or more coconut flesh to eat) and cut it open for you to savour! Mom says it's really cooling and thirst-quenching. *licks lips*

Well, herein lies the end of the first part of my post (or rather, my post for Mom!) about Mom's trip to India
! Will post the next part tomorrow....stay tuned, and paws crossed that I will fulfill this! *wink*

xoxo,
Scottie

Looks like quite the adventure. I can't wait to see more photos. I like the weird electricity. I hear they eat a lot of Mango over there.

What a wonderful adventure your mom had! The pictures make me want to visit Bangalore. Did she bring back souvenirs for you? If not a beautiful silver bed, maybe at least a nice handmade water bowl or leather collar? I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.

What great pictures! My mom has been way too busy and I haven't had a chance to visit my friends, but I'm so glad I'm finally back to read about the trip!
