Videos...finally!

Whew...I finally got the videos up and running! *grins* As promised, here are the videos from the MKA agility and obedience trials last week! The first one below is a short snippet of one of the winners in agility...a Jack Russell Terrier called Kimi! He sure is very enthusiastic about it, barking all the way!

This next one is yours truly making a big blunder at the Pre-Novice class of the obedience trials...haha! I would love it (well, Mom made me ask!) if you fellow champion obedience doggies and parents could give me a few pointers as to how to make my heelwork better! Mom's quite frustrated sometimes when I do it so beautifully at the training grounds, but not so when I'm in somewhere new...*rolls eyes*

Here's a video that Mom managed to get of me, Pacco & Ginger having a bit of fun after our turns at the obedience trials...hehe!

And last but not least, Mom got a video of me and Kenji wading in our pool..*grins* I can't help but laugh when I saw Kenji's face...haha!

Well, that's about it for my obedience trials and 'swimming'...*grins* It's nearing the weekend already, so I hope you have a GREAT weekend! Coming up next, it's someone special's BIRTHDAY! Who's that? Watch this space...*wink*

xoxo,
Scottie

Good evening scottie
Please forgive the visit of slow of I.
Taking a picture of the video is beautiful, and training is happy.
And, the friend's being able to do is a thing however that I am glad.
Henry David Thoreau was taught from Ari for me.
A lot of things for which the thing that is teaching from the friend is very useful are glad of me.
A wonderful weekend on the birthday that approaches. :D

I think you did very well in obedience! But personally, I'm OBSESSED with your pool. I want one! The kiddie pool at the bark park in the summer is my FAVORITE! I can't believe you have one of your very own. Jealous!javascript:void(0)

Hi Scottie--
Ms. Alpha watched your obedience video really carefully and has some things to tell your mom to get your heel better and your focus on her.

First, she has studied all the articles and videos on this most TERRIFIC website:
http://www.gettoready.net/

Go to the Articles section and just read all the stuff in the General section. Then look at the Videos of the Exercises—watch how confidently the handler moves. Your mom walked like she wasn't quite sure that she was in charge. Tell her to throw her shoulders back and lift her head as if to show the world she is totally confident. It's amazing how a small change in body language will tell you, Scottie, that you should pay attention, focus and heel.

We also think your mom should do as much heeling work in a public place as possible. Tell her to bring your favorite treats so that you will learn to focus on her and not get distracted. I have the same problem, too—I'm perfect when we're alone, but find all new stuff too interesting to ignore. But if there is a piece of dried liver in my mom's hand I will pay her all my attention.

Finally, does your mom do clicker training? That will really help tell you EXACTLY what she wants you to do.

Let us know how you are doing. We are also learning and think you are really on your way.

Your pal,
Fenway

Why is it that humans never ask us to do anything interesting at these trials...like chase a ball? or roll over and over in the grass? or find good things to sniff? All that walking, heeling, staying stuff is SO boring! You looked great, Scottie!
