A Very, VERY Belated Post In A Brand New Year

Hi everyone!

A VERY Happy (and Belated!) New Year to all my friends! We had been super 'busy' what with all the long weekends and all...Mom has been going out so much it's insane! So, I sat her down and gave her a good talking to. She promises to be more vigilant in helping me blog...so I hope that becomes a resolution that she intends to keep in this brand spanking new year! *grins*

So, to commemorate this New Year, I'd like to start by thanking all the friends who have sent me cards (snail mail or e-mail or even just dropping by my blog!) for Christmas! In total, I think I've received more than 50 cards! That's super awesome, coz my Mom only got one...mwahahahahaha! =P Here are some photos of me with my beautiful and LOVELY cards! They will go into my card collection along with the ones I've received last year...*grins*

And here are the e-cards that I've received as well! I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't display all the cards I've received, because some are animated and Mom doesn't know how to capture it all. But Thank You just the same to all the friends (old and new!) who have sent me a card! I hope I can come by and visit your blogs real soon to thank you in person...everyone's cards are SOOOO gorgeous!

Mom is also getting a little obsessed with another gadget that Aunty Jane bought not too long ago...don't know what it's called, but it's really funny to watch them play with it and laughing along. Sometimes I like to lie down next to Mom, but when she's playing with that gadget thingy, she asks me to move away coz she's afraid she might step on me! GRRRRR! But all the same, they all giggle like silly school girls when they see my confused look watching them play this thing:

Here's to hoping that Mom won't neglect me again in the process, and everyone had a great New Year's!

Outtakes from my Christmas 'Photoshoot'

Hi everyone!

I'm starting to (very) slowly catch up with your blogs, so please bear with me, my Mom and her laziness as we get ready for the long weekend and festivities! *grins*

This year, Mom has been super late in getting that perfect photo of me for the Christmas Card Exchange. Oh well, better late than never right? We know that we could never outdo other doggies and their families who built great looking sets that sets the tone for the holidays, so Mom made do with what we had...Photoshop. LOLLLL! Anyhoot, she managed to get some pretty funny outtakes from our little shooting, and here are some to share:

Me in a mini Santa hat! The hat was a bit too stiff..I guess probably from the material it was made out of. I looked like those olden days cartoons where they put the naughty children at the corner with a cone on their head..just needs the word 'Dunce' written on it, don't you think?

Then I wondered where did Mom get the idea of putting it on my NOSE??!! I put up with it at first, smiling for the camera...

...but after a few more takes it wasn't that funny anymore. I think I almost suffocated in the process..haha!

Being all washed out from the posing, I took a break.

And when Mom wasn't looking (or so I thought!), I executed a little revenge tactic on the Santa dunce-y hat...mwahahaha!

After effects of the hat...we never used it again. YAYY!

But then, Mom managed to find yet another embarrassing looking 'hat'! Complete with a Santa face and all...*sigh* Oh well, might as well give her a few nice shots, right?

*After take 19786345234623*

Even Kenji was not spared from the horror of the hat! Because it was too big to put on the head, Mom thought it funny to hang it on his back....oh dear!

Poor, poor Kenji...see how miserable he looked?

Mom never got that nice shot of Kenji with the hat...he was SOOO not in the mood (and rightly so!). So, rushed for time, Mom came up with this:

We hope we didn't miss out anyone for the Card Exchange...even if you did not participate in the Card Exchange, please do accept this little ecard from us all! Merry Christmas to all and cheers to a FANTASTIC New Year! *grins*

Mari, Puppies and The Shelter Pet Project

After watching that heart-wrenching video of the mother dog and her 3 pups from my previous post, Mom decided she would go searching for the movie to see what happened next. It was a happy ending after all! (Go here to read about the movie)

Mom also managed to
*cough*download*cough* the movie, and so we'll be watching it tonight! YAYY! (psst...if any of you want to do the same, please do let us know and we'll pass the links on *wink* I know it's not very good to do this, but it's impossible to find that movie here, so we had to resort to uhh...not-so-good methods to watch it)

**************************************************************
The other day, Mom got a very cool email from a nice lady about a new campaign running in the aim of increasing the rate of shelter pet adoption in the US. They do this by dispelling myths about these lovable animals. This campaign is called the Shelter Pet Project (SPP) and is sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States, Maddie's Fund, and the Ad Council! Check out the very cute and PAWSOME ad here:

Besides that, they have a very cool website too to tell us more about the campaign, how we can get involved, as well as the shelter doggies & kitties who are looking for a furever home! Here are some screenshots of what the website looks like:

The main page...with a cute animation of adorable doggies!

The Adopt-A-Gram page, where you can send messages to friends or family and spread the word about this pawsome project! Who knows, they might just be looking for a new member to their home...*wink*

And Pet Personals...where you can fill in a questionnaire to match a needy dog or cat your own home and lifestyle! How cool is that? *grins*

So, if you are looking for a pet, or you know of someone who is looking for a pet, how about giving shelter doggies or kitties a chance? They so deserve to have loving homes like yours and mine! Although I am not from a shelter, I am so blessed to be able to find my home...some other doggies or kitties were not so lucky, so if we could, let's all give them a second chance at finding a loving home!

A Very Touching Story

This got Mom leaking big time....she says it's a true testament to dog's unconditional love for their humans. Even at times of need, they never waver in their loyalty and love to their owners. She hopes this would never happen to another family or ours, for that matter.

...And (OMG!) MORE Food! (Don't you think it's too much?)

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a GREAT weekend! We sure did...*grins* I'm not going to spoil all the fun by telling everything in one go *sneaky grin* Will unveil bit by bit just for the suspense...heh!

First up, Gramma made MORE Bentos for Mom and Rachel...they get nicer and nicer as she got more equipment and ideas to beautify a lunchbox! I think she should start her own Bento blog, don't you think? *wink*

Secondly, Happy Father's Day to all the Dads, Daddys, Fathers (and other endearments that I've missed out) all over the world! Here's to wishing all Dads Thank You for everything that you've done throughout the years...you truly are the rock of the family! *grins* I don't have a Dad (just yet), but Grampa has been really wonderful to me!

The whole family (sans us again...GRRRR!!)took Grampa out for a nice dinner on Saturday..look at all the yummy food!

Shark's fin soup for Grampa and Gramma...I don't know what it tastes like, but Mom said it's a Chinese delicacy!

This was a new one: Fried tofu with almond flakes served with a honeydew salad and mayonnaise on the side...*drools*

And then, they had CRAB too! Omigosh...they look so yummy! This was crab cooked with a Marmite sauce (I kid you not!)

And this was crab cooked with salted egg and milk, infused with some curry leaves for flavouring...yummy!

Another favourite of the family: Steamed fish with a yummy sauce...*licks screen*

The 'aftermath' of it all...I can't believe they didn't keep any leftovers for us poor doggies! GRRRRR! But they sure did enjoy it loads...

Aunty Vivian asked Grampa to smile for the camera, and instead he did this! heheheh! Happy Father's Day, Grampa!! *grins*

*********************************************************************************

Stay tuned for our next post, as it was somebody's special day on Sunday! A little sneak peek (Mom is still helping me to choose the best photos):

It's All About The Food...

This post is dedicated to Gramma, coz of her fabulous cooking skills and dedication to serve the family scrumptious food (which now spoils us to the point that we compare other people's cooking to hers...o.O") Why you ask?

Recently, she found a new interest: Kyaraben Bento, also known as Character Japanese Lunch Boxes. So interested, that she would wake up extra early to prepare some cute yet VERY delicious lunch boxes for Rachel and Mom. Case in point:

Gramma's first attempt for Mom's lunch box...some rice balls, sausages and assorted meats with fruits on the side *wink*. It doesn't really have the character thingy just yet, but there were some cute carrot cutouts (complete with sesame seeds for eyes o.O) and pretty looking sausages...*drools* Mom doesn't mind having cute stuff for lunch, coz they are healthy and tastes yummy!

Gramma got a little elaborate for Rachel though, since Rachel ADORES looking at cute stuff and being envied by her classmates in school about her pretty lunch box!

See? Even the leftovers got the lunch box treatment...cool eh?

This was Gramma's second attempt for Rachel...it gets prettier and prettier *grins*

And this was Mom's lunch box...yummy!

Some close-ups on the yummy food...stir fried vegetables on a pretty flower-shaped tomato!

And the 'teddy bear' just waiting to be eaten...LOL! It had raisins for the eyes and nose..heh!

On behalf of Mom and Rachel, I'd like to say 'ARIGATO GRAMMA!' *grins* Keep on the lookout for more yummy-looking lunch boxes from Gramma in this space...*wink*

***************************************************************************************

Today is also my Gotcha Day! YAYYY! I can't believed it's already 2 years since I was here at my beloved home...Mom did a little something for my Gotcha Day (since she missed out on my first year, so this year she did something...heheheh!)

AAAANNNNNDDDD...that's not all! She made some *ahem* treats for me too, but according to her they turned out to be a big disaster...*rolls eyes* Trust Mom to make a big blunder out of simple dog treat recipes...will post more about that in my next entry. Until then, here's a sneak peek:

Apologies for not visiting YET AGAIN...>.<" Been reading your blogs, but haven't got time to post up comments since I have so many to catch up on! Will do that ASAP...Scottie's honor! *grins*

I'm Back.....I Think

Sorry I've been missing again....Gramma's Mom crossed the Bridge after the last post I made, so everyone's been really sad as it was quite unexpected =( I've only gotten to know Granny a few times when she came to our house for visits, or when we go back to Seremban for celebrations. Mom said that Granny is always around with a smile to greet everyone, and never forgets a grandchild or great-grandchild's name...I think she is VERY fortunate to have known her great-grandchildren. Not many people live long enough to do that...=) She certainly is one lovely Granny...

I told Mom that although it's goodbye for now, we will see her again later, and she is definitely in a much better place where there are no sicknesses and pain. Farewell, Granny...you are dearly missed.

****************************************************************************

Well, there's not much to update from me as of now. I hope I can come by to comment on your bloggies real soon...I've missed reading up on all your stories and adventures and walkies and lots and lots of things! I DID get a fur-cut from the groomers last week though...so, here's what I look like now:

Smiling for the camera....=) Mom says I don't look as 'manly' as I used to. What's that supposed to mean?

Aunty Vivian said that I look like a Poodle now...LOL! Do I?

Probably doesn't really matter, since my fur grows out real fast, and it's REALLY hot these days, so I am very grateful for cooling, not-so-long fur!

Oops! That's Kenji trying to ham up the camera too...everyone's gushing over his now soft fur! All thanks to a raw diet (woohoo!) and some good supplements for the coat and skin...*wink*

But still...this is about my fur-cut, so one last photo of me...hehe! I like to think I look a little 'cleaner' now too. Not that I'm dirty most of the time, but the beard just likes to get in the way when I'm drinking or eating, and Mom always complains that my beard is too brown instead of white, so this is a win-win situation no?

*********************************************************************************

Mom also went to her friend's house last week for some yummy food....it's called Nasi Lemak, and from what I was told, it was EXTRA yummy! *drools* Too bad she didn't bring back some for me...*sigh*

Mom's friend is also a dog rescuer too...while Mom was there, she took some photos of the dogs at the house. Actually, she took more than these, but the rest turned out so blurry she was embarrassed to put it here. LOL! So, here are the nicer ones:

A little Yorkshire Terrier that was nicknamed '2 Kilo' coz she weighed 2kg...hehe! Mom kept gushing about her the whole time she was there, I almost thought she wanted to adopt her...LOL! But look at the face...I think most people would have done the same too...*wink*

'2 Kilo' looking to get some yummy treats....

This is Meow Meow...the doggie who 'escaped' from the pool during the doggie pool gathering! *grins*

This is Zaccheus (Zack for short), the Wiry Jack Russell Terrier who's boarding there...Mom loves his affable nature!

This is Lena-Joy, Zack's sister...she's a real cutie-pie too!

Mom forgot the name of this doggie here, but Mom said that she is SOOOO shy because it was her first time being boarded there with so many doggies that already know each other well...she keeps to one corner, but after a while, she started walking about too. =)

Yup, that's all from me for now...I'm keeping my paws crossed that I can come by real soon to catch up with you all! Till then..
