Happy (Belated) 4th Of July...

...to all my friends from the US! From what Mom told me and from the Internet, it's a PAWSOME celebration with loads of good food, great company as well as fantastic fireworks at night! Wish I was there! Happy Independence Day! *grins*

I didn't think this was a coincidence, but Mom definitely did...she cooked dinner again on Sunday for the family, and it 'just so happens' to be (mostly) food from the US!

There's Jambalaya, Cola-Glazed Wings (though I think the wings looked a little burnt...LOLL!) and Shrimp Salad with some Brazillian Lemonade, and for dessert...

Peach Cobbler! *licks lips* Sadly, those were ALL for the humans....they finished it all before we poor doggies even got to sniff at it! GRRRRR! And to rub more salt into the wound, right after dinner Mom made...

Her own version of Hot Pockets (I think that's what it's called anyways!) Dang...

Ooh, but when it came to OUR dinner time, I smelled something different!

OMG...it's BEEF! And apparently according to Mom, it's a 'special' kind of beef...so special that Gramma called Mom crazy for getting it to feed us doggies! o.O" I just knew it smelled awesome and by the looks of it, very fatty and yummy-looking!

Ooh....see the juicy meat!! Mom cuts it up for us and then...

We had to wait again before diving in! GRRR!

We dove into it so fast after Mom gave the OK that she couldn't take any nice photos of us! Ooh, I can't describe the yumminess of it all...it was SO good I had to eat it all quickly! Heh!

I know, it's either I don't post anything for ages and when I DO post, it's about food and then apologizing for the lateness in catching up >.<" Really sorry about that! Mom's been cooking quite a bit lately and that's about all we always talk about anyways...she's feeling a bit up to the neck about her work thingy, so she says cooking and baking (at the moment) takes her mind off the stuff at work. I told her to go for it, since it means more FOOD! Although, I think I'd better get her to bake some stuff for us too coz she's been making HUMAN food more and most of the time we don't get to eat it :(

I've often wondered why them humans don't allow us doggies to eat their food too...they keep saying that it's too sweet, too salty or whatever. If it's bad for us, isn't it bad for them too? Sometimes I feel us doggies eat much healthier than they do! Heh heh! So, for the humans who want to be healthier, eat like us...more fresh meat, some veggies, no salt and sugar and you're good to go! *wink*

Scottie

UPDATE: I've never gotten any problems so far with Blogger all this while, but I guess somehow or other, someone will get 'attacked' every now and then...and today happens to be my time! >.<" I can't seem to view the comments sent previously. =( I had it set to allow me to moderate the comments, but whenever I see a notification and I go to that page, Blogger tells me I have no comments to moderate! So, I then set it to just accept comments with some word verifications...luckily I set email notifications too when anybody comments, coz I can get the comments through email, but NOWHERE was it shown in the blog! O.O" Dang Blogger! It's a good thing that email notifications still work, so I still get some of your comments...I don't know if it's really Blogger, or has my account been hacked into! >.<" Anybody else experienced this before?

Double Whammy Of A Celebration!

Hola amigos!

It's me, Kenji, taking over the blog again...mwahahahahaha! It was my BIRTHDAY on Saturday, and....*thud*

*scramble scramble* GEROFF! It's MY blog you know??!! Little brothers are such a pain....*sigh* But I guess it WAS his birthday, so for today, we shall share the post....and throughout the post we will be posting in different colors so you can tell who's talking. I (Scottie) will be in BLUE, coz that's my favourite colour! *grins* Kenji shall be in PURPLE, coz that's the closest thing to red (his favourite colour). Red wordings on a green background hurts the eyes so he shall compromise...heh! Anyways, take it away Kenji...

Thanks Scottie! As I was saying before I was rudely cut off by my big fluff of a brother...it was my Birthday, and since it was also Father's Day on Sunday, Aunty Audrey decided to make me a little something for my birthday...*puffs chest* Now, what's the best way to know that you're the favourite furkid of the house? When you get awesomely nicer yummies than your brother!!

HEYYYY!!!

*snickers* I'll show you later on in the post...for now, it's on to photos!

Nah, this is not Kenji's cake...it's a coffee cake made for Grandpa for Father's Day! Mom wanted to be creative and write "Happy Father's Day" on the cake, but thought better of it since her frosting skills need (LOTS of) work. Heh! So she just made little swirlies and put hearts on it. Grandpa liked it! Happy Belated Father's Day to all the Dads and Grandpas out there from all of us! *grins*

Yeah, yeah....now, on to my most FAVOURITE thing of all! Drum roll please!

Ta dah!! I know it looks like little blobs of stuff, but it's actually Meat Cake Pops!! I know it sounds kind of weird, but here's the story (according to Aunty Audrey): she was browsing through some websites for ideas on making a cake for me...since she already did cupcakes before, she wanted something a little different. That's when she stumbled upon Cake Pops (Cake Lollipops) as an inspiration!

She didn't want to make floury cakes as was the 'tradition' for the past few cakes she made for us, so she made her own version: Meat Cake Pops! LOL! The 'lollipop' sticks were rawhide chews and the cake were actually meatballs baked and cooled, then frosted by mashed potatoes and sprinkled with bacon. Then top it off with decorations cut from cheddar cheese. Arrange it all nicely in a bowl shaped like a vase, and you get your own bouquet of Cake Pops! YUMMMM...*licks lips* See what I mean by me being the favourite? I have the 'creative' cakes, while my brother gets only a round cake...hehehehehh!

Pffft....whatever! *rolls eyes*

And here's the spread of yummy food that the humans get too (only the ones at the top of the photo...the ones at the bottom are ours!). There's pasta, roasted chicken and yucky green veggies...LOLL! I still think the Cake Pops are the best! *wink*

Yuki came to visit too for my birthday, and we all posed for a photo! It was SOOO hard to lie still while that big bunch of meatballs with bacon are right in front of us! Notice we all looked so impatient and unhappy....coz they keep snapping the photos and asking us to do silly stuff! GRRR!

After a VERY long wait, we got to chow down! See mine? I have a gold star next to my initial! It means I'm super special...*broad grin*

Yeah well...MINE was a SUPER huge one with my own initial on it! Mom made it SPECIALLY for me, so THAT makes me the favourite...*puffs chest*

Uhh ohhh....look at the mess we made. >.<"

Not only is my birthday SUPER special, I got this SUPER big deal of a chew bone as a birthday pressie! See how big it is?? It's as big as me!! o.O Oh man, this is going to take AGES to chew on, and I'm well up for it...*grins*

*sigh* I still have to share it though, but only for this photo's purpose....no way Scottie's going to take my bone from me!

Okay, that's it! No more Mr. Nice Brother from now on....now it's back to me! *pushes Kenji away* Anyways, sorry for not commenting on your blogs very often...I do visit, but haven't been able to comment much. Will rectify that very VERY soon! Until then, Happy Belated Father's Day and hope you all have a great week ahead!

Salmon Drops, Carob Sticks And A Visitor??

Whoops...Mom totally spaced out again! >.<" Anyways, this was supposed to be for last week's post....go figure, right? *rolls eyes at Mom* So, without more delay:

Lookie at the new treats we got! Mom usually gets either the chocolate drops or the yogurt drops from another brand (she even uses the chocolate drops to make our treats!), but this time around she saw a new thing...SALMON drops! More on that further down...next to the salmon drops is a box of chocolate (read: carob) covered sticks. Too cute!

Us waiting patiently for it....

Ooh, look who we have here??!! It's Yuki! Isn't she cute?? No, we didn't get a new sister but Yuki comes to play with us every now and then...she's a long coat Chihuahua, and she's about 6 months old now. *grins* Back to the treat, we finished it off in no time flat (coz Mom was stingy like that and divided that small treat into 3 portions...HMMPH!!)

Next, we tried the salmon drops! When the package was opened we jumped in excitement coz the smell was just heavenly (though Mom commented that it smelled weird)...fishy treats! She thought of trying to melt the drops like she did with the chocolate ones to see if she could make something out of it...well, we'll see how it goes! I'll probably finish it before she'd remember....*snickers*

Kenji with his salmon drop....see his emo face again? LOLL!

And Yuki! She learnt how to "Leave It" quite quickly, and sitting very nicely for Mom to snap a photo! I sense another attention seeker in the house...*wink*

One last photo of her...Mom likes her brown eyes!

Okay, that's about it I think...I hope my next update won't be that long again, but with Mom, it's kind of hard to tell these days...>.<" I'll be visiting soon! *crosses paws*

New Treats & A Blog Exchange Link!

Hi everyone!

Blah...I've GOT to get a back up typist for my blog updates! Mom's been super lazy lately I feel like giving her a big bite on her bum bum for not helping me...GRRRR! Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes and good healing vibes for Rachel! I'm proud to announce that she has fully recovered since last Sunday (see what I mean when I say I need a new typist??!!) and everything is back to normal again...YAYYY!

On another note, we got some new treats samples from Pepper's Pawsome Treat House to try and review! As you know, all forms of edible yumminess are MOST welcome...*grins* Here is our review:

Look at the yummy treats!! Mom liked the packaging coz it doesn't use too much plastic and it's very innovative...I just like the looks of the treats! *licks lips* If you biggify the photo here, the treats are labeled as follows: (from top) Chicken Cheese Tarts, Chicken Pumpkin Sticks, and Chicken Carrot Sticks!

See? I'm starting to drool already...

But meh...we still have to pose with the treats first for a photo! Hmmph! Notice Kenji giving Mom the 'evil eye' for making him wait for the treats...heh!

Oh, and let's not mention the amount of time (and drool found) before Mom got these photos! But nonetheless, I got my treats...*licks lips* I finished mine in record time...they were SCRUMPTIOUS!!

To my chagrin, Kenji only had to look cute to get HIS treats! GRRRR! That, and maybe twirling around on his hind legs...makes me think I should go learn some dance moves so I don't have to be tortured so much. Heh! We finished the samples within like, 5 minutes....that's how good it was! *grins*

So, if you're from Malaysia and you're looking for some yummy, home made and healthy treats, give Pepper's Pawsome Treat House's treats a try! They have all sorts of treats available...even veggie ones for the extra health conscious! *grins* Click on the name to go to their site!

***********************************************************

One fine day as well, we got an email from a very nice lady wanting to exchange bloggie links with us! We're always up to meet new friends, so we took a look at the site here: Beloved Pets. And what a cool site it is! It's a blog filled with loads of very cool information for pets an owners alike...some include tips on how to give baths to fussy dogs, airline restrictions for pets, or even how to potty train a pup for the new owners who got a furkid *grins* Not only that, I got to make friends with Duke too! He's a very adorable rescue doggie who loves to cuddle with his human....just like me! Okay, I'm not a rescue dog, but I DO love to cuddle...heh! So, if you're looking for cool tips on caring for your furkids, please do head on down to Beloved Pets!

Mom is back to having more baking frenzies now, so I don't know when I will be back with another update. GRRR! Any takers for a blogging partner (aka typist) position? My rewards are abundant...you get loads of free cuddles, hugs, kisses and lots of LURRRVE! *wink wink*

Kenji Taking Over....Mwahahahaha!

Hola amigos!

Kenji here, busting out a move or two as Scottie's incapacitated...err, I mean UNAVAILABLE at the moment. Heh heh! I've been noticing that I have had only ONE post so far in his almost 2 years of blogging, and being the one that can outwit and outsmart him, yours truly has finally managed to pin him down long enough for me to take over...*grins* Okay, so here's the lowdown..

You're probably wondering why Scottie hasn't been updating his blog ever so frequently...well, let's just say that his Mom has been 'busy' doing stuff like this:

Mini apple and key lime pies (for the humans no less! We never got any...hmmph!)

Just yesterday, she tried out yet ANOTHER recipe from here and it smelled so delicious, it was irresistible! I'll give you a hint:

Can you see what was it that made us sit so nicely?

The 'before' and 'after' photos....*licks lips* See? The recipe was for 'Bacon-Wrapped Cocktail Sausages', or as the humans in the UK called it 'Pigs In A Blanket'. Never mind what's it called...I just know it smelled heavenly!! Scottie and I came up with a scheme to trick the human to spare us one since they never shared the apple or lime pies with us: puppy eyes and following her everywhere until she relented! Heh heh heh!

I let Scottie have his first, since he was so co-operative and ever the Mama's boy...*sniggers*

Licking licking all the yummy goodness off the bacon first...

And finally(!!) chomping down on that tender juicy sausage!

MY turn...mwahahahaha!

OMG...the smell is just TO DIE FOR! My bulgy eyes are a testament to it.

Should I eat it this way or that?

Yeah, I think attacking it from the right would be best...NOM NOM NOM!!

*THUD*

*sounds of scrambling*

Sorry about that, guys! My piggy of a brother thought he could just take over my blog without a fight...NOT that easy! *grins* No worries, he is fine...although now come to think of it, maybe I SHOULD let him blog every once in a while. Saves me time in blogging and stuff...*wink* I should think of it some more. So, to end this little debacle:

My disgruntled face...coz we only got one of that yummy sausage! And Mom definitely made more than that...HMMMPH! She said something about 'too much human food being bad' for us, but how come THEY never get sick eating it? My doggie senses tells me there's some sort of conspiracy going on....I'm going to check that out!

I'm Three Years Old!

It's my birthday today! *grins* I'm proud to say that I'm of 'legal' age (if you convert our age to human years) and I'm really lucky to have a loving family...=)

Thanks to everyone who was so supportive of Mom looking for a new workplace...she's kind of bummed at the moment. I'm guessing she didn't get that dream job, but not to worry...I'll always be there to do silly stuff and make her laugh! *grins* That's what I do best...heh! Also, I'm so behind on catching up with your blogs! Really sorry about that...I will try and visit as many friends as I can! So, enough of all the gloomy stuff...it's supposed to be a cool day, so I'm determined to rock this out!

Mom said since this year my birthday falls on a weekday, she made my cake during the weekend...nothing big this year, but at least there's cake! *grins*

Voila! Mom says it's not much coz she's not that creative, and as you can see...the cake frosting is a bit off. LOL! But hey, it's the thought that matters I guess...*grins* I heart the little doggie in the middle (cut out with cheesy ham...*licks lips*) with the silver baubly heart! Mom made the same cake that she made me last year, only this time she used chicken instead of beef, and made the cake smaller coz we didn't have that many doggies to share it with.

The side of the cake...cheesy ham again with my name on it! Mom wanted to put it on the top but the cake was too small, apparently...LOL!

And at the back, doggie biscuits with ham cut-outs too...

Some stuff for the humans...it's Salmon Bites (Mom got the recipe from here) and I got a wee taste too! Didn't look as nice as the original, but when served hot, it's yummy!

Me with my cake...Mom forgot to get the special candles. LOL! No biggie...I don't know how to blow it out anyways...=P

Kenji and I...he was a bit grumpy coz it wasn't his birthday yet. Haha!

And the candles were lit! Hurry up, Mom! I want some cake!!

And smiling one last time before the candles melted away...*grins*

Mom is more satisfied with the way the cake turned out this time around...it actually looks more like cake than her previous attempt last year! Now the only thing is to get the decorations down pat...haha!

So, enough talk about the cake...it's NOM NOM time! *grins*

Kenji with his cake piece...his seriousness astounds me sometimes! >.<"
Digging into the cake...I took it out of my bowl to have better access to it. Mom wasn't too happy, but meh...it's MY cake, and so I shall eat it the way I want it! *grins*

Kenji was more gentlemanly this time around...so unlike him! LOL!

Well, that's about it for now...it's still early, so there may be more surprises up ahead! *grins*

Scottie
