Double Whammy Of A Celebration!

Hola amigos!

It's me, Kenji, taking over the blog again...mwahahahahaha! It was my BIRTHDAY on Saturday, and....*thud*

*scramble scramble* GEROFF! It's MY blog you know??!! Little brothers are such a pain....*sigh* But I guess it WAS his birthday, so for today, we shall share the post....and throughout the post we will be posting in different colors so you can tell who's talking. I (Scottie) will be in BLUE, coz that's my favourite colour! *grins* Kenji shall be in PURPLE, coz that's the closest thing to red (his favourite colour). Red wordings on a green background hurts the eyes so he shall compromise...heh! Anyways, take it away Kenji...

Thanks Scottie! As I was saying before I was rudely cut off by my big fluff of a brother...it was my Birthday, and since it was also Father's Day on Sunday, Aunty Audrey decided to make me a little something for my birthday...*puffs chest* Now, what's the best way to know that you're the favourite furkid of the house? When you get awesomely nicer yummies than your brother!!

HEYYYY!!!

*snickers* I'll show you later on in the post...for now, it's on to photos!

Nah, this is not Kenji's cake...it's a coffee cake made for Grandpa for Father's Day! Mom wanted to be creative and write "Happy Father's Day" on the cake, but thought better of it since her frosting skills need (LOTS of) work. Heh! So she just made little swirlies and put hearts on it. Grandpa liked it! Happy Belated Father's Day to all the Dads and Grandpas out there from all of us! *grins*

Yeah, yeah....now, on to my most FAVOURITE thing of all! Drum roll please!

Ta dah!! I know it looks like little blobs of stuff, but it's actually Meat Cake Pops!! I know it sounds kind of weird, but here's the story (according to Aunty Audrey): she was browsing through some websites for ideas on making a cake for me...since she already did cupcakes before, she wanted something a little different. That's when she stumbled upon Cake Pops (Cake Lollipops) as an inspiration!

She didn't want to make floury cakes as was the 'tradition' for the past few cakes she made for us, so she made her own version: Meat Cake Pops! LOL! The 'lollipop' sticks were rawhide chews and the cake were actually meatballs baked and cooled, then frosted by mashed potatoes and sprinkled with bacon. Then top it off with decorations cut from cheddar cheese. Arrange it all nicely in a bowl shaped like a vase, and you get your own bouquet of Cake Pops! YUMMMM...*licks lips* See what I mean by me being the favourite? I have the 'creative' cakes, while my brother gets only a round cake...hehehehehh!

Pffft....whatever! *rolls eyes*

And here's the spread of yummy food that the humans get too (only the ones at the top of the photo...the ones at the bottom are ours!). There's pasta, roasted chicken and yucky green veggies...LOLL! I still think the Cake Pops are the best! *wink*

Yuki came to visit too for my birthday, and we all posed for a photo! It was SOOO hard to lie still while that big bunch of meatballs with bacon are right in front of us! Notice we all looked so impatient and unhappy....coz they keep snapping the photos and asking us to do silly stuff! GRRR!

After a VERY long wait, we got to chow down! See mine? I have a gold star next to my initial! It means I'm super special...*broad grin*

Yeah well...MINE was a SUPER huge one with my own initial on it! Mom made it SPECIALLY for me, so THAT makes me the favourite...*puffs chest*

Uhh ohhh....look at the mess we made. >.<"

Not only is my birthday SUPER special, I got this SUPER big deal of a chew bone as a birthday pressie! See how big it is?? It's as big as me!! o.O Oh man, this is going to take AGES to chew on, and I'm well up for it...*grins*

*sigh* I still have to share it though, but only for this photo's purpose....no way Scottie's going to take my bone from me!

Okay, that's it! No more Mr. Nice Brother from now on....now it's back to me! *pushes Kenji away* Anyways, sorry for not commenting on your blogs very often...I do visit, but haven't been able to comment much. Will rectify that very VERY soon! Until then, Happy Belated Father's Day and hope you all have a great week ahead!

xoxo,
Scottie (& Kenji)

I'm Three Years Old!

It's my birthday today! *grins* I'm proud to say that I'm of 'legal' age (if you convert our age to human years) and I'm really lucky to have a loving family...=)

Thanks to everyone who was so supportive of Mom looking for a new workplace...she's kind of bummed at the moment. I'm guessing she didn't get that dream job, but not to worry...I'll always be there to do silly stuff and make her laugh! *grins* That's what I do best...heh! Also, I'm so behind on catching up with your blogs! Really sorry about that...I will try and visit as many friends as I can! So, enough of all the gloomy stuff...it's supposed to be a cool day, so I'm determined to rock this out!

Mom said since this year my birthday falls on a weekday, she made my cake during the weekend...nothing big this year, but at least there's cake! *grins*

Voila! Mom says it's not much coz she's not that creative, and as you can see...the cake frosting is a bit off. LOL! But hey, it's the thought that matters I guess...*grins* I heart the little doggie in the middle (cut out with cheesy ham...*licks lips*) with the silver baubly heart! Mom made the same cake that she made me last year, only this time she used chicken instead of beef, and made the cake smaller coz we didn't have that many doggies to share it with.

The side of the cake...cheesy ham again with my name on it! Mom wanted to put it on the top but the cake was too small, apparently...LOL!

And at the back, doggie biscuits with ham cut-outs too...

Some stuff for the humans...it's Salmon Bites (Mom got the recipe from here) and I got a wee taste too! Didn't look as nice as the original, but when served hot, it's yummy!

Me with my cake...Mom forgot to get the special candles. LOL! No biggie...I don't know how to blow it out anyways...=P

Kenji and I...he was a bit grumpy coz it wasn't his birthday yet. Haha!

And the candles were lit! Hurry up, Mom! I want some cake!!

And smiling one last time before the candles melted away...*grins*

Mom is more satisfied with the way the cake turned out this time around...it actually looks more like cake than her previous attempt last year! Now the only thing is to get the decorations down pat...haha!

So, enough talk about the cake...it's NOM NOM time! *grins*

Kenji with his cake piece...his seriousness astounds me sometimes! >.<"
Digging into the cake...I took it out of my bowl to have better access to it. Mom wasn't too happy, but meh...it's MY cake, and so I shall eat it the way I want it! *grins*

Kenji was more gentlemanly this time around...so unlike him! LOL!

Well, that's about it for now...it's still early, so there may be more surprises up ahead! *grins*

Partying with Chloe, Autumn, Giselle, Charlie and Paul!

Hi everyone!

As promised, here are the photos from a recent party that I attended recently...it is Chloe's (no relation to Amber-Mae & Chloe) and Paul's (her owner) birthday party! What made it so special was her owners were super gracious to host other doggies' birthdays there too! So, we got to celebrate with Autumn, Giselle, and Charlie as well...cool huh?! So, let's get the party started! *grins*

Mom and I arrived early, coz Mom was helping out with some doggie treats...we first met Boy Boy. He's Chloe's big brother...*grins*

Then I met the birthday girl herself! She is so good smiling for the camera!

I think she could be another potential model, don't you think? *wink*

Here are some of the foods the humans (and of course some for the doggies as well!). Mom made these Biscuit Bites (this was taken before the party)

The yummy spread of food...the table in front were mostly food for us furkids, and the rest for the humans. Later that night, there were more additions from Charlie's Mom! Can you imagine the amount of food we all ate? hehe!

Doggie cupcakes...

Nutella-frosted cupcakes (for the humans)...

Pudding...

And fried noodles...*licks lips*

Look at the beautiful cake Chloe got! Her Mom got it from a pet bakery...I wish Mom could make a pretty one like that too someday! *hint hint*

As you can see, it's mostly about food...hehe! These were baklavas, that I think originated from the Middle East. Mom LOVED these pastries!

And there were some yummy looking sweets too!

Of course, it wasn't JUST about food...there were some games and lots of chit chatting. AND, we all got goodie bags to take home! How cool! No photos of the games though, coz Mom was busy 'supervising' me...I got a little, overexcited so she had to 'contain' me at some point. LOL!

But she DID manage to take some photos of my friends who attended the party! Here they are:

This pretty girl Poodle is called Er Lu...she's very camera shy as you can see. She also shied away from me when I tried to say hello!

I got to play with Autumn too! It's been ages since I last saw her at Ruby's Resort! *grins*

This ever cute boy is Archie! Mom loves his 'sad' face...*grins*

And this is Faustina, Charlie's sister...she came dressed as a hula dancer (the party theme was beach luau!), and of course she won the best dressed doggie of the night! hehe!

Here are three American Cocker Spaniels that are so cool! Mom loves their gentle, happy and calm temperaments...they are (from left): Giselle, Golden and Gary! The 3 G's! hehe!

I got to savour many types of doggie treats...one of which was this yummy homemade dehydrated meat. Notice my wet beard? I drooled loads when everybody was eating...haha!

After all was done, we all got together for a group photo! See if you can spot me...heh! Look at the amount of people and doggies at the party...it was a smashing success, if I say so myself! *grins*

That's it from me for now...I'm off to visit your blogs now. Wish me luck that Mom will sit down long enough to visit ALL my friends! *crosses paws*

Turning Two: Kenji-Style

Yup, as you've probably guessed by now, my brother Kenji turned two! *grins* Actually his birthday was on 9th June, but you know how humans can be...they forgot. *snickers* Still, Mom wanted to help make his day not-so-bad, and we had a little (VERY) Belated Birthday Party on Sunday...

Us on Sunday morning...we knew the humans were up to something, but just can't tell yet!

Hah! First 'surprise' of the day...a little 'SPA' treatment for us. heh! (Recipe of the spa courtesy of Amber-Mae's Spa Eau Naturel) Mom loves the lemony, citrus-y smell of it all...*grins* I just love being pampered...hehe!

Then, after a LONG LONG wait...
.
.
.
.
.
The result from a few hours of baking and decorating! *grins* Aunty Vivian helped out with the decorations...don't they look cool? The 'cupcakes' are actually meatloaf with mashed potatoes as the 'frosting' (it's about the same recipe as my cake in my Birthday Post) and decorations include some ham, doggie biscuits, cheddar cheese slices, and some nori seaweed. Since Kenji is so small, Mom decided smaller cakes should be the order...she just didn't expect to work twice as long! heh! But it's still worth it, since the results were quite satisfactory! Can you read what the words say? It's supposed to be 'Happy B'Day' with Kenji going through the middle...*grins*

Not only that, Mom also made Little 'Eataly Meatballs' (as stated in the recipe title..heh!), which turned out quite nicely for her...

..And this was my favourite: Peanut Butter Cups! (made with dog chocolate of course! *wink*) Mom also made a human version of this, but I still think our doggie version beat it hands down!

For the humans, Gramma and Aunty Jane also made some Korean Kimbap (something like Japanese sushi, but with a Korean twist on it)

And there were also some other stuff that Gramma made Bento-style...hehe!

Kenji obviously ogling with delight at the yummy cupcakes!

The Birthday Boy with a HUGE smile on his face...

Aunty Vivian bought some pretty candles just like my Birthday ones, but the cupcakes didn't have enough room, so she put them on the meatballs...don't they look cute?

And after lighting them, Kenji got a little (but very fast, because of the melting candles) rendition of the 'Happy Birthday' song.

Needless to say, after all that, it's time to EAT! *grins* But first, we had to pose...

Kenji giving a big grin coz he got his initial...

and saying Thank you by offering his paw...

Then, it's FINALLY chow time! Kenji licked off all the decorations first before diving into the cupcake (literally! LOL!)

Me, I waited a little, coz the cupcake still had its liner there...

After a while, I got Mom to hold it for me while I licked off any excess to the cake...heh!

Lady got a cupcake too! She was SOOO excited coz it smelled different...Mom's slowpoke camera can only catch blurry photos of her. *sigh* You should have seen how she was bouncing about like a puppy instead of the dignified Lady that she is...

She ate the cupcake with so much gusto, it was gone in an instant! Look! You can't even see her face here...just the empty cupcake liner! Good job, Lady!

Mom decided it would be funny to make me balance the other treats first before I could eat them...*sighhhhh*

While the Birthday Boy got off real easy...pffft!

After all that, Kenji decided he wanted another...he begged with his pleading eyes, and he got one! Omigosh! I wonder if it works with MY eyes...

Ooh...yup, I did! The rest of the cupcakes were given to our friends and neighbours, since we can't possibly eat all of them, and not enough storage space in our house...but still, I think it was quite a nice party! Happy Belated Birthday,Kenji! He got a spiffy new red collar as his birthday present, and he's all showing off that his birthday cake was better than mine. GRRRR! That sounds like a challenge, doesn't it?
